CYGNUS 711 Next Generation Multiplexer
Allows RS232 ports to be extended from an upstream site to remote locations using one or more leased lines.
Automatically corrects any errors in user port data caused during transmission on the leased line.
Several cost-effective topologies possible. A single CYGNUS 711 unit at the upstream site can be shared by several remote sites.
Topologies providing alternate paths can be configured, to provide continued connectivity to remote sites even if a leased line fails.
Ordering time option for 4, 8 or 16 RS232 Terminal Ports (for connecting user devices), and 2 or 4 V.35 Network Ports (for connecting to leased lines via external modems).
RS232 port speed from 1.2 kbps to 115.2 kbps. Leased line speed from 64 kbps to 2 Mbps.
Very robust RS232 ports with built-in 1500 V AC isolation, which reduces the chances of RS232 port failure even at sites with poor quality power supply, poor earthing, or high levels of electrical noise and surges.
Easy set up and installation. Standard topologies can be set just by setting DIP switches. Extensive set of status indicators., including Activity indicators for each Terminal Port and each Network Port.
Ideal for replacing older Multiplexers in Railway’s PRS/UTS network, and for extending Terminal Server ports from upstream sites to new booking offices for connecting Dumb Terminals there.
